I am originally from Ballymena, which is a busy town in the North of Ireland. I moved to Liverpool to complete my studies in Sport and Exercise Science followed by a PGCE in Primary Education at Liverpool Hope University.
After completing my teacher training in Liverpool, I moved home to Ireland and taught Year 1 and Year 2 classes, both of which I enjoyed hugely. After this, I travelled to South Africa for 6 weeks and taught children English and Physical Education. I then decided I wanted more experience in international teaching and was fortunate enough to get a job in Doha. I have taught in Year 2 and been the Head of Year 2 for the past two years.
My family also live in the North of Ireland and we are all very close. I have two brothers, the eldest is a Secondary PE teacher in Ireland and the youngest has just finished his studies in Sports Science. They all visited me in my first year in Doha and really loved it.
My main interests consist mainly of playing different sports and travelling. I also enjoy socialising with friends.
At Oryx I aim to instill in children a love of learning and encourage all learners to reach their full potential.
