I was born and raised in a small town in the North of Ireland called Magherafelt. I studied as a Primary Teacher with a specialism in Physical Education at St. Mary’s University College, Belfast.
Having studied abroad in Belgium, experiencing life in an International School and spending many summers teaching in India, it inspired me to move away from home and teach internationally. I took up my first teaching post as a Year 1 Class Teacher and Deputy Key Stage 1 Coordinator. I loved every minute of working in KS1; however, I have enjoyed returning to play-based learning
In the evenings and at the weekends I thoroughly enjoy taking part in walking challenges and I love to see how many steps I can get each week on my Fitbit. Living and working in Qatar gives me a great opportunity to escape all the rainy days at home in Ireland and get out and explore the variety of cultures that Qatar has to offer. Travelling is also a great passion of mine and I love embracing new places, meeting new people and tasting new cuisines.
Each year I look forward to instilling a love of learning in the children and helping to develop the wonderful skills and talents that they have been given. I hope to inspire excellence within the children I teach and allow them to strive to reach their full potential.
