I was born in Spain and grew up in a small village near Barcelona. Since a young age, I always dreamed of understanding and travelling the world. I studied languages in the USA and France and gained a (BA) Hons in Politics with French in the UK. I subsequently did my PGCE in Languages at Leeds and a postgraduate course in Coaching at the workplace through Middlesex University in Dubai.
I started my teaching career in a Sixth Form College in Wakefield, the North of England. My passion for languages pulled me towards the Middle East where I had the pleasure to work for several years. I first worked in The British School of Alkhobar in Saudi Arabia, followed by Horizons School in Dubai.
My main interest outside school is making films. I have enrolled with the Doha Film Institute and I am currently making videos about different topics. In my spare time, I also love learning Arabic which I practice when socialising with friends. I love art, music, museums and history.
My main aim at Oryx is to inspire students to learn languages not only by learning the language but also by learning about the rich historical heritage and culture of the Hispanic world. It is important to me that students are provided with real-life experiences of their chosen language by means of trips abroad and real-life interaction with native speakers.
