I was born in the North-West of England and lived in the same house with my family for 21 years. As a family we always loved to go on holidays, so my passion for travelling started very young. Luckily for me, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, so I studied for three years at Edge Hill University and qualified as a Key Stage 2 and 3 teacher.
As soon as I graduated in July 2014, I got my first teaching post at an international school in Doha where I spent two years gaining lots of valuable experience. I then moved to another international school here before exploring other countries within the Middle East.
By leaving Qatar to work in another country, it made me realise how much of a great place it is, as everyone is so friendly and kind here. I was lucky to be given the opportunity to return to Doha and work at Oryx.
My main interests are catching up with friends and visiting new places, especially restaurants. Attending gym classes such as body pump and boot camp and most importantly, travelling to new places to experience the beautiful sights and different cultures. So far I have visited 36 countries!
It is my job to make sure that all children are happy and thriving at school. Learning should be fun and purposeful with clear expectations between teachers and staff. My aim at Oryx is to ensure that all of my pupils wake up in the morning and enjoy going to school because learning in the classroom is fun and meaningful. I hope to develop their self-esteem and confidence by helping them find their hidden talents.
