Jocelyn Day

Modern Foreign Languages Teacher

I was born in the UK, at the age of three my family and I moved to France where I spent the next 15 years. We then travelled the world for a few months before returning to the UK where I completed my GCSE’s.

I attended Kings College London University where I studied French and Economics, I then went to Warwick University where I started my Masters in Educational Leadership and hope to complete it in the near future.

I have taught in four countries with Qatar being my fourth. I spent time in Montreal teaching in a primary school as a language assistant, I then went to complete my PGCSE in the UK. In 2018 I wanted I went to gain IB experience, the Teach for France community posted me as an English teacher in Central Paris. I worked in a mainstream school that was also linked to a pupil referral unit. It was an unforgettable experience, and we won a prize from the Maire of Paris for helping the community.

My family are all back in the UK and my parents are both retired having completed their medical careers and are enjoying the Derbyshire countryside.

I love playing the violin in my spare time and horse riding. I have a passion for performing arts and love outdoor activities. I am currently learning Arabic which I am very much enjoying.

My aim is to deliver high quality and stimulating lessons to our students and introduce them to the countries and cultures they are learning the language of. I hope to learn from my new colleagues and be an asset to this already fantastic team.
