Jodi-Ann Robins

Teacher of Computing

I was born in Jamaica but moved to London at the age of 16. I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Computer Science with Music Informatics from City University, London, and a PGCE in Secondary Education from the University of Greenwich, London.

I started my teaching career after working in the IT private sector for a few years, however, I have spent most of my 8+ years of teaching in a mixed secondary school in a small town in Essex UK as a Teacher of Computer Science then Curriculum Team Leader.

With my mum who lives in Jamaica and Dad who lives in the UK, I have been lucky enough to experience life on both sides of the world. I am the eldest child with all my siblings currently residing in the UK.

Aside from all things tech, I have a keen interest in the creatives – from contemporary dancing to photography, graphic design to interior decorating; I enjoy creating.

My aim at OIS is to continue to positively impact young minds to be fully functioning members of society thus subscribing to the achievement of the school’s long-term aim/vision. I will use my pedagogical and personal strengths in computing as a contribution to the wellbeing and progress of the students of Oryx International School. In addition to this, by building relationships with staff, students, and parents, I aim to assist in the creation of a holistic learning experience for all involved.
