Bio
I am originally from Sri Lanka, where I completed my training in Early Childhood and Pre-School Education through The Open University of Sri Lanka. I have more than 20 years of experience in early years and primary education, gained across Sri Lanka and Qatar.
Early in my career, I established and ran my own kindergarten in Sri Lanka, where I worked as the Head Mistress. This role gave me valuable experience in leadership, curriculum planning, and managing a nurturing learning environment for young children.
After relocating to Qatar, I have worked in a range of reputed international British schools and other early years settings. My roles have included Head Mistress, Primary Teaching Assistant, Kindergarten Coordinator and Art and Craft Coordinator.
I am passionate about teaching, creativity, and free expression in the classroom, and I enjoy using creative activities to support children’s learning and development. I am very excited to be part of the Oryx International School community and to contribute my teaching experience and creativity to the school.
Fun fact
I love travelling the world and exploring new cultures, and I also enjoy drawing and inspiring children to express themselves creatively through art and craft.
