About the Role

The role is a full time role to start from January 2021 or earlier if possible. The purpose is to process and maintain purchase ledger records and to provide financial administrative support to the wider finance department whilst ensuring financial reporting is completed on a timely basis and to a high quality with appropriate supporting weekly reconciliations.

Person Specification

You will have a proven track record as a Finance professional with experience in working as part of a finance team an advantage. Whilst knowledge of the educational environment would be beneficial, a willing attitude and being a good team player are key attributes.

In particular, candidates should meet the following technical profile:

  • Strong Purchase Ledger skills, having already worked in a fast paced Accounts Payable function previously and have a good understanding of end to end Purchase Ledger.
  • An experienced user of accounting packages, preferably Sage.
  • Recognised qualifications in a relevant discipline would be desirable.
  • A high degree of computer literacy and in particular, strong Excel skills and knowledge of other Microsoft products
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly written and spoken English are a necessity.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks

In addition, the personal qualities we are looking for include:

  • Ability to resolve and reconcile issues with limited supervision by identifying sources of errors, making retrospective corrections and ensuring that appropriate changes are put in place to prevent re-occurence.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, ambitious and energetic person
  • Accurate & efficient and able to communicate with a wide range of people (eg. Staff and suppliers)
  • Willing and able to tackle and quickly learn a variety of tasks within the school’s Finance environment
  • Able to work as part of a team
