Qatar Airways GCEO, Akbar Al Baker, retires after 27 years of service. New CEO appointed, Engr, Badr Al Meer.

After nearly three decades of dedicated service, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, has stepped down as the Group Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, effective 5^th November 2023. He will be succeeded by Engr. Badr Al-Meer as Group Chief Executive, formerly COO of Hamad International Airport .

HE Mr Al Baker has played a pivotal role in Oryx International School. The school was founded under his leadership, and has grown to celebrate all the values that are synonymous with the global airline’s excellent quality and standards.
