About the School

Baleares International College (BIC) https://balearesint.net/campus... is the largest British owned school in Mallorca, providing education based on the English National Curriculum to 485 students (from 5 to 18) in Sa Porrassa, a very accessible but beautiful rural area, adjacent to the south west coast of Mallorca. We are accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Education, based upon inspection and recommendation by the British Council, and are a founding member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS). The school is also a member of COBIS, the Council of British International Schools. In October 2025 we received an extremely favourable BSO inspection.

About the Opportunity

This exciting opportunity is to join the Humanities team in our all through school. The team is a strong one, with a wealth of experience, evidenced by excellent exam results, high expectations, superb subject knowledge and close collaboration. If you have a passion for Economics with relentless positivity and high expectations for the students you have the privilege to teach, do apply. Most importantly, we are seeking to appoint a teacher who will also be a strong team-player, with a good sense of humour, who is caring and authentic, hardworking and resilient, and with a steadfast commitment and belief that all children can achieve.

The successful candidate will also want to play their part in the development and implementation of the school’s strategic plan, supporting the delivery of the school’s mission to make the school the number one choice on the island. As a British school, specialising in teaching the National Curriculum to a diverse, international student population, strong English language is an essential requirement and applications from native-level speakers of English are preferred.

Living and working in Mallorca

As a relaxed, friendly and cosmopolitan island, working in Mallorca has many benefits. From the beautiful beaches and coves spread across its 550km coastline, to the majestic world heritage Serra de Tramuntana
Mountain range, the splendid landscape means you are never far from the mountains or sea. The international city of Palma de Mallorca is also close by, one of Spain’s major cities, steeped in history, wonderful architecture,
shops and restaurants.

The added benefit of cheap and short haul transport links to the UK and Europe - via Palma de Mallorca Airport - means that home and some of Europe’s finest cities are only a short journey away. Spain itself, of course, offers myriad opportunities for travel.

Closing date
for applications is 1st August 2026. However, preliminary interviews will take place on line and will commence immediately from the date of advertising. We anticipate a lot of interest, and from past experience have often appointed well before the closing date. Early applications are therefore encouraged, as the school reserves this right to appoint before this deadline if the right candidate is found. If you have not been contacted by 15th August, you should assume that your application has not been successful on this occasion.
