About the Opportunity
We are seeking to recruit highly motivated experienced school leaders, to support the next period of exciting development for the Orbital Education group. We welcome applications from colleagues interested in both future Principal and Vice Principal positions.

In the role of Principal, you will be responsible for working with the Orbital Leadership team and local stakeholders to drive the strategic direction of the school, in addition to overseeing the operational leadership of the both the academic and non-academic teams.

About the person
You will be a visionary, strategic leader and a committed team player who demonstrates a collaborative approach to working with others.
Experience of meeting International standards around safeguarding, safer and health & safety.
You should have excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with all stakeholders.
A proven track record of achievement and leading sustained improvement in senior leadership in all-through schools (age 3-18), Primary (age 3-11) or Secondary (age 11-18).
A passion and a drive for excellence at all levels and for developing teachers so that they deliver quality teaching and learning experiences for their students.
Commercially astute in delivering against budgets, effective resource management (both human and operational) and ensuring the school offer meets the expectations of new and present parents.
Experience of working in an international school environment in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural setting is desirable but not essential.

The British International School of Ljubljana (BISL) (https://www.britishschool.si/) is a growing British-style school serving students aged between 3 and 18 from over 30 nationalities in the capital of beautiful Slovenia, Europe’s “hidden jewel”. Classes are small and the students are eager to learn. BISL is an accredited member of COBIS and in March 2024 met all the standards in an ISI BSO compliance inspection. In a full inspection in 2021 the school achieved OUTSTANDING IN ALL CATEGORIES.
About the Opportunity
The role is to teach a Year 2 class, which will be split due to oversubscription. You will be responsible for inspiring and enthusing students in their development of knowledge and skills within the English National Curriculum. The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant and creative team of Primary teachers and responsible for delivering, English, Maths and Topic subjects as a class teacher.
The successful applicant will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, able to demonstrate a proven commitment to the highest standards of teaching and learning and student achievement; someone with drive and passion who believes in creating a unique, inspiring and outstanding place for learning, able to excite and challenge students of all abilities to make great progress. Applicants should also be prepared to contribute to the wider community aspect of school life, which is expected of every member of the teaching staff.
Applicants must have a relevant degree, teaching qualification and ideally experience of successfully teaching Primary aged students. Experience of working with EAL learners from a variety of cultures will be an advantage.
Because of difficulties in obtaining a visa and residency, it will not be possible to consider applicants from nationalities outside of the UK or EU. Family visas can only be issued after 2 years of employment in the country.
As a British school specialising in delivering the English National Curriculum, IGCSE and A Level to a diverse international student population, strong English language is an essential requirement and applications from first language speakers of English will be preferred.
