The ceremony combined moments of inspiration and celebration.
On Wednesday, 12 November 2025, the auditorium at Oryx International School became the stage for one of the most meaningful celebrations of the year: the 2025 IGCSE Awards Ceremony. It was an event filled with pride and emotion, recognising the effort, perseverance, and outstanding achievements of our students.
Upon arrival, parents and guests were welcomed with an art exhibition showcasing the talent of Aleah Jo D., who achieved the highest mark in Qatar for GCSE Fine Art. Her artwork, displayed at the entrance to the auditorium, reflected the creativity and dedication that define our school community.
The ceremony combined moments of inspiration and celebration. The event opened with a Qur'an recitation by Ahmad M.D., followed by heartfelt speeches from our Head Girl and Head Boy, Khadijah R. and Imani Q., who shared messages of gratitude, leadership, and hope for the future.
Among the highlights of the event were two beautiful performances: a piano piece, “Indigo Moon” by Elissa Milne, performed by Ella-Kai B., and a touching vocal performance of “How Far I’ll Go” by Lin-Manuel Miranda, sung by Akshayaa P., which filled the auditorium with excitement and applause.
“This month, we proudly celebrated the exceptional accomplishments of our students at our annual Year 12 Celebration and Awards Ceremony. We had the honour of presenting certificates to those who achieved the highest grades in Qatar, the Middle East, and the world. This is a remarkable milestone that reflects their dedication and pursuit of excellence. Our Year 12 students, having successfully completed their IGCSE journey and begun their Sixth Form studies, now step into an exciting new chapter of their academic pathways.
These achievements remind us that when ambition is matched with perseverance and the right opportunities, our students can shine on any stage local, regional, and global. Thank you parents for the immense support you continue to provide to our school; just as we are proud of our students’ achievements, we know you share in that pride each time Oryx rises to the top.”
