Winners for the second consecutive year in both categories

At Oryx International School, we proudly celebrate an achievement that reaffirms our strong commitment to excellence, holistic education, and the values that define us as a learning community. For the second year in a row, our school has been named the winner in both categories of the prestigious national competition Qatar School Choir of the Year (QSCoY) 2026, a key event in the country’s musical calendar, organised by Doha College under the inspiring theme “Uniting Children Through Singing.”

In this sixth edition of QSCoY, our students earned top recognition in the following categories:

🎵 Winners – 5–8 years category

🎵 Winners – 7–11 years category

This extraordinary achievement is a testament to the talent, dedication, and continuous effort of our young singers, as well as the inspiring leadership of Mrs. Navarro and the brilliant support of Miss Salazar. Together, they represent the highest standards of artistic and educational excellence, and reflect Oryx International School’s commitment to the holistic development of every student.

Our choirs’ performance was much more than a musical display; it was a clear expression of the values that define our school: teamwork, discipline, confidence, respect, and a passion for learning. These principles, fostered daily in our classrooms, were evident in every note and in the confidence with which our students stepped onto the stage.

At Oryx International School, we firmly believe that the arts play a vital role in shaping well-rounded, creative, and confident individuals. This consecutive double victory at QSCoY strengthens our commitment to an education that inspires, motivates, and prepares our students to thrive in any field.

"I am incredibly proud of our students, not only for their artistic flair but for the sportsmanship they demonstrated in recognising the talents of other performers throughout the qualifiers. Such achievement requires immense hard work and commitment to learn the songs and choreography, driven by our amazing music teachers. However, it also relies on our fantastic parents ensuring students are supported and rehearsed. I am sure our parents now know the songs just as well as the students do!"
Allen Bird - Executive Principal

We congratulate our students, teaching team, and families on this outstanding achievement that once again positions Oryx International School as a benchmark of excellence, values, and educational commitment in Qatar.
