September has been a very busy month in Primary. We have welcomed a number of new children, their families and staff.

There is a real buzz in Year 5 and Year 6 as they think about the residentials that are taking place in the New Year. If parents couldn’t make the information sessions below.

Doha Pear Academy visited Oryx to talk about Football coaching skills that are available to our children as a paid after school activity.

Science Week was a cracking success!

Thanks to Mr. Cassidy, the staff and pupils for becoming fully engaged in science week. We were all enthralled by our visitors from Qatar University who led the Science show for the pupils. Following much excitement and anticipation, we were able to congratulate Jupiter for winning the House Award for the best egg protector.

House Awards

Our winning house for September was Saturn. Congratulations to all our children who are demonstrating superb learning attitudes and promoting our school value of respect.

After School Activities (ASAs)

We are delighted that Oryx International can offer such a wide range of after school clubs. There have been some teething problems with the booking system and we thank you for your patience. Hopefully, most of the issues are now being resolved. Children must come to school dressed in their school uniform, if they have a sporting ASA they will have the opportunity to change at the end of the school day.

Parent teacher meetings.

Over the next few weeks, class teachers will be contacting parents of our ‘new’ children to discuss how they have settled into life at Oryx. These will be followed, later in the term, with meetings for all parents and a school report for each child that will reflect attainment, progress and learning behavior.

Kind regards

Andrea Smith
