School Uniform

Primary School: Year 1 -6:

As per the Ministry requirements students are to wear swim dress as per instructions below:

Boys from Year 1 to Year 6

• Should wear a swimming costume that must be at least knee length
• There are no specifications regarding the need to cover shoulders
• The option is given to male students to wear a swimming top (all educational levels)
• Burgundy swimming cap with school logo. (not compulsory) available at the Uniform Shop.

Girls - From Year 1 to Year 6

• Should wear a swimming costume that must be at least knee length
• Swimwear should adhere to the Qatari cultural sensitivities including ensuring that the costume has either long or short sleeves – IE shoulders should not be exposed
• Burgundy swimming cap with school logo. (not compulsory)

Please Note:

• When students participate in international sports competitions, they have the option of adhering to the specifications of sports clothing in accordance with the requirements of the competition and the organizing body, provided that the parent /guardian approves that (applicable to all education levels).
• Children who do not comply with the guidelines, will unfortunately not be able to attend school swimming lessons

Secondary School: Year 7-13:

• Junior Girls Grey Trousers

Boys:

• Boys’ polo shirt
• Junior Boys Grey trousers
• Boys Grey shorts
• Cotton blend burgundy jumper with school logo

General:

• Boys and Girls can wear the school polo shirt and black shorts or track trousers
• Oryx school cap or sun hat
• Children can wear their PE kits on swimming days - they should come to school wearing their swimming costumes under their PE kits
• Socks should be plain Black, Dark Grey or White and Ankle length
• Shoes should be black leather with black soles (Trainers not allowed)
• Boys shorts should not be above the knees

Physical Education:

• Burgundy polo shirt with school logo(compulsory)
•  Burgundy shorts (should not be above the knee)
• Girl’s leggings for under their shorts
• Black tracksuit trousers
• Burgundy sport fleece with school logo
• Any trainers can be used with the PE or Sport Kit
• PE Bag (not compulsory)

Girls:

• Skirts and dresses must be beneath the knees.
• Children Y1-Y3 do not need to wear tights or shorts underneath their skirt or dress
• Children Y4-Y6 must wear a skirt or dress which is below the knees, accompanied by either:
  • Black tights only underneath tartan skirt
  • Black or white tights underneath floral dress
  • Black cycling shorts underneath tartan skirt or floral dress as an alternative to tights
• Leggings are not appropriate
• Socks should be plain Black, Dark Grey or White and ankle length

Boys:

• Collared white shirt with school logo
•  Boys’ grey shorts
•  Boys’ long trousers.
• Cotton blend burgundy jumper with school logo.
• Shorts MUST not be above the knees
• Socks should be plain Black, Dark Grey or White and ankle Length

General:

• Oryx school cap or sun hat.
• Leggings are not appropriate
  
• Socks should be plain Black, Dark Grey or White and ankle length
• Children can wear their PE kits on swimming days - they should come to school wearing their swimming costumes under their PE kits

• Students between FS1 & Year 6 are welcome to come to school in their PE Kit
• Students from Year 1 - Year 6, if choosing to wear shorts, should ensure that they fall below the knee. Alternatively, they can wear black PE tracksuit trousers
• Children not wearing school PE kit will not be able to participate in PE lessons
• Leggings are only permitted for PE and are not part of the general uniform

Girls:

• Collared white long-sleeved blouse with school logo (short-sleeved shirts are not permitted)
• Tartan skirt (at least knee-length) or Ankle length Tartan skirt
• Senior Girls Grey trousers
• Tartan necktie/scarf
• Cotton blend burgundy cardigan with school logo
• Black tights (not leggings) are compulsory if knee length tartan skirts are worn
• Hijab colours may include grey, black or burgundy

Boys:

• Collared white long &/or short-sleeved shirt with school logo
• Senior Boys Grey trousers
• Tartan tie
• Cotton blend burgundy jumper with school logo

General:

• Skirts must not be above the knees and accompanied by tights (not transparent)
• Black tights only underneath the tartan skirt
• Leggings are not appropriate
• Socks should be plain Black, Dark Grey or White and ankle length
• Trousers should be wide leg
• Boys in Secondary school should not wear shorts, as part of their formal uniform

Physical Education:

• Burgundy polo shirt (compulsory) with school logo (compulsory)
• Burgundy shorts (below the knee)
• Girl’s leggings for under their shorts
• Black tracksuit trousers
• Burgundy sport fleece with school logo
• PE Bag (not compulsory)

• Black tights only underneath the tartan skirt
• Leggings are not appropriate
• Socks should be plain Black, Dark Grey or White and ankle length
• Trousers should be wide leg

• Blue (Saturn), Red (Mars), Yellow (Jupiter), Green (Venus) or Orange (Mercury) t-shirts with house names and school logo (a house will be allocated to your child when they start school)
• Black tracksuit pants or shorts
• Girls - Year 7 – Y13, black leggings must be worn under their shorts
• House shirts can be purchased from the uniform supplier for House Competitions and Activity days

• School Shoes: Plain Black leather school shoes and NOT trainers
• Any type of trainers are acceptable for use during PE Lessons and with the PE or Sport Kit
• Trainers are only to be used for PE lessons or after-school activities

Oryx International School bags from the uniform shop are compulsory and are part of the uniform, please do not bring other bags into school

• EYFS to Year 2 - Infant backpack
  
• Years 3 to 6 - Classic backpack
• Years 7 to 13 - Active backpack or portfolio bag

• Students may wear one set of stud earrings. Other piercings are forbidden except for cultural reasons and only with the express written permission of the Executive Principal
• Students may wear a watch, but no other jewellery is permitted, e.g. necklaces, rings, bracelets etc

• Hijab colours may include grey, black, white or burgundy
• Hair accessories should pertain to school colours and therefore be grey, black, white or burgundy
• Water bottle (not compulsory)
  
• Please ensure that all uniform and belongings are clearly and permanently labelled with your child’s name and class
• No other clothing items are allowed to be worn at school
