Dear Parents
As this term draws to a close, I would like to thank all parents, students and our staff for continuing to be so positive, resilient and supportive with regard to the ongoing challenges we are facing.
This month has been packed full of memorable experiences for our learners. Our classrooms have been filled with book characters, mad scientists, animals and bears this month and seeing the children dressed up and enjoying themselves gives us the boost we all need at the moment.
As parents will be aware, we took part in two TT Rockstar competitions this term. We are delighted that two of our incredible pupils, Manha (6E) and Tejas (5A) were placed 11th and 13th out of 23,177 students from around the world. The local Doha competition took place last week and five of our amazing stars - Manha, Tejas, Aditya (5A), Gabriel (3A) and Manhoor (4D) were placed in the top ten of 2 682 children! A shout out to class 5A who were firing on all cylinders during these TT Rockstar competitions! This year, our theme for Science week of “Innovating for the Future” was another success. I hope you all had fun flying your kites at home!
The house points awarded from the competition and from the PE Mini Olympics were all calculated and resulted in Mercury House being the winners for Term 2. Well done!!
Over the last few days, parents have all had the opportunity to meet with their child’s class teacher albeit on Zoom. I do hope, parents have found this useful but please remember, parents can communicate with their child’s class teacher at any point during the school year to talk about issues or concerns their child may be facing. We actively promote the parent-teacher partnership and we are happy to talk over any matters as they arise.
Next term begins on 11th April and we are looking forward to welcoming group A back to school. Please note that we will be operating Ramadan hours as from 11th April.
Regards and happy holidays,
Andrea Smith
