Hello everyone! My name is Samantha and I am originally from Devon in England.
When I was 14 I moved to France where I spent the following years completing my studies in Finance, Audit and Accounting and gaining my first professional experiences in accounting practices such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
In 2005, I joined the Deutsche Bahn group - first as a finance and administrative manager in Lyon for 4 years and then as an internal auditor manager in the head office in Berlin for 6 years. As an internal auditor, I was fortunate enough to travel the world and have so many amazing experiences. One of those was meeting my husband in Istanbul and, after we married, I left my job in Berlin and worked in Istanbul for a year as an internal control consultant. When I fell pregnant with my precious daughter in 2016, we moved to Cyprus to enjoy a calm environment for the birth. However, it was a bit too calm for us for the long term and we moved to Doha 3 and a half years ago, when my husband joined Qatar Airways.
Besides my professional career, I am passionate about bringing people together and am a co-founder and former board member of the Rotary E-Club of Berlin, a former InterNations Ambassador for the Berlin community and a current community manager of a group of Doha based expat ladies called GGI Doha.
I am equally passionate about travelling, keeping fit (especially swimming, dancing and running), reading and singing.
My main passion, however, is my daughter and I am so happy to be involved in her amazing school, both as a class rep and a member of the PTSA for a second year. I would like to thank OIS and the other PTSA ladies, both past and present, for having me and I am looking forward to the continuation of our wonderful collaboration in the coming months!
