We would like to introduce you to the PTSA team that have done a fantastic job to date within Covid restrictions.
Khatheejath Mohamed Aboobacker
I was born in the village of Kayalpatnam in the southern part of India.
My early years were all spent close to home with family. After completion of school, I enrolled as an undergraduate to learn mathematics, this was followed by a Masters in Mathematics, both completed at very prestigious universities.
It was during these years that I got my first opportunity to get along with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Following the completion of my Masters degree, I had the opportunity to work as a mathematics teacher in an IGCSE school. I was tasked with preparing higher secondary students for Edexcel exams.
Following a short career in India, I moved to Qatar with my family. I chose to continue pursuing a career in teaching. This time an entirely different challenge. To train primary students in basic mathematics in a CBSE school. I relished the time in the school as much as I did in my previous school.
After two stints as a school teacher, I am currently shining in a new role. The most challenging one yet. Being "A homemaker".
While I remain committed to excelling in whatever I choose to do, I never shy away from taking up new responsibilities. Here I am keenly looking forward to putting to use whatever knowledge I have gained through my experiences, while also learning new skills and most importantly meeting new people.

I am a mommy to an energetic 7-year-old boy. I have completed an MBA in Aviation Management and a Diploma in Human Resource Management. I have mostly worked in the airlines my entire career. I was a flight attendant with our national airline back home and later moved to Dubai to work for a Dubai based legacy airline. After a few glorious years in Dubai, I moved back to India. I then joined the number one airline in India and worked my way to become a cabin crew manager. I have also worked briefly with another airline as a cadet pilot. Working in airlines gave me an opportunity to travel to over 80 countries around the world and experience various cultures. Apart from the airlines, I have also worked in the banking and IT sectors.
We moved to Qatar in 2015 when my spouse started working for Qatar Airways. I have recently left my job at a popular veterinary clinic in Doha to spend more time with my family. Currently, I am overseeing a corporate car rental solution business, which operates back at home. It is not a full-time job and I work from the convenience of my home. I have a keen interest in home décor, I am learning piano, I love to travel alone with my son to new places, he is an amazing travel companion. I also enjoy reading and I am an avid home gardener. Currently, I am learning spoken Arabic.
My child has been going to Oryx International School for the past two years. So far our journey has been very enriching with Oryx, we are very happy with the high standards of the school. The school is very welcoming and nurturing, and my child is very happy going to the school which says a lot. I am looking forward to assisting the school wherever possible as a PTSA member with the support of other committee members.

I am a mum of four children at Oryx International School, we’ve been in Doha for almost seven years but it’s our first year with the school, so joining the PTSA was a great opportunity to get to know more about the school community and share all my previous experiences.
I believe that we as parents should all work together and always try to do our best to support the school to always a 5-star school experience for our kids.

I am a UK qualified pharmacist living in Qatar.
I was born and raised in the UK and that’s where I attained my Master of Pharmacy degree. I trained and completed five years working in a community pharmacy where I lead a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the safe delivery of medication and running of various health clinics such as travel immunisations and smoking cessation.
As well as healthcare my passion lies in travelling, staying fit and trying my hand at baking different delicacies I have experienced from around the world.
After meeting and marrying my husband, we discovered Qatar and decided our next adventure lay here. We moved here five years ago and two children later we have never looked back.
I have two children who are a part of Oryx, and am so excited to be a part of this amazing school. I hope to aid the PTSA association in continuously building the bridges between parents, teachers and students to ensure our kids have the best experience here.
