The main Courtyard has been transformed into an installation celebrating the imminent World Cup. This has been a huge team effort, lasting since initial planning in June through to last week's fitting of our huge statues with the football strips of France, Qatar and Brazil. In addition, enormous footballs were built for the statues to kick and head, QR codes were positioned for students to access facts about each World Cup since 1930 and a layout of bespoke stickers adorned the playground, thus making it an interactive installation for our students.
Particular credit goes to Mr David Glazier for his artistic guidance, the A-level Art classes, PTSA parents who designed and fitted the statues with huge football kits over several weeks and our support staff who helped with setting up the whole large-scale exhibit. The attached photographs do not do justice to either the enormity of the exhibit or the team and timeline. But, the children appreciated it all. It is a one-off moment in the history of Qatar and of our school.
