We are delighted to announce that Oryx International has been awarded with The Bell Foundation’s extremely well-respected, ALFRI accreditation. This accreditation has been awarded for exemplary provision for children who have English as an Additional Language (EAL).
In order to receive this accreditation, the EAL provision at Oryx was rigorously accessed in seven core areas:
- inclusive vision, values, attitudes and behaviours
- inclusive governance and leadership for EAL
- whole school languages policy
- Continuing professional development and learning for EAL
- Assessment and placement of plurilingual pupils
- Curriculum, teaching and support of plurilingual pupils
- Learning of plurilingual pupils
The outcome of this assessment is that Oryx has been awarded the ‘Exemplary’ standard, which is the highest standard available, in every one of these seven areas.
