The Oryx Family consists of over 90 nationalities, with over seventy different languages spoken within our school community! As such, we recognise the importance of ensuring that every parent has the opportunity to actively participate in their child's learning journey.

In an effort to support our non-native speaking families and empower parental involvement in students education, we are delighted to announce the continuation of our successful EAL (English as an Additional Language) classes for parents.

Last year's initiative, led by Mrs. Misquith and Mrs. Burke, saw the participation of nearly forty parents from diverse linguistic backgrounds. These dedicated parents attended English classes to bolster their language proficiency, focusing on the fundamental skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

We are pleased to share that these empowering classes will resume in Term 2 of the 23/24 academic year. Beginning on Thursday, January 18th, the classes will take place weekly at 7:30 am on the school premises. And the best part is, these classes are entirely free!

To register your interest, Please email liam.mernagh@oryxschool.qa with your intention to take part including the following information: Full name, QID number, email address, home language and whether you are believe you are in the beginners class or intermediate class. The deadline is Thursday 14th December.

Don't miss your chance to strengthen your English skills and actively contribute to your child's academic success! Oryx International School is committed to providing growth and learning opportunities for every member of our diverse community.
