Oryx International School proudly celebrated the Graduation of our Year 13 students, as well as some early graduates from Year 12, marking a significant milestone for the Class of 2024. This year’s ceremony was a memorable occasion, attended by families, friends and staff, honouring the achievements of our 43 exceptional graduates.
Moderated by Our Outstanding Student Leaders
The event was eloquently moderated by this year’s Secondary Head Boy and Head Girl, Kael and Kanzah. Their exceptional leadership and elegance added a special touch to the ceremony, making it memorable for all attendees.
The ceremony was opened by our Executive Principal, Derek Laidlaw, who welcomed everyone with heartfelt words for the attendees.
“It has been an absolute pleasure for me to see the students progress through the school, some of whom are founding students. I am immensely proud to have been given the honour of witnessing them grow – both academically and personally – and I am excited to see them each embark on their next phase of their academic adventures at university and beyond. I very much hope that each of you will remain in touch with the school, and eagerly await reuniting with you at one of our Alumni Reunions in the near future! Congratulations on these outstanding achievements.”
Inspiring Words from a Distinguished Speaker
The school were honoured to welcome Mr Antonio Schulthess, Chief People Officer at Qatar Airways and Chairman of the School Board, who delivered an inspiring speech to the graduates. His words of wisdom and encouragement deeply resonated with the students, motivating them to pursue their dreams and aspirations with confidence and determination.

Musical Performances to Remember
The ceremony was further enhanced by beautiful musical performances from Hanaa, Sanjana, Jase, and Samantha. Their talent and passion for music provided a delightful and emotional backdrop to the event, celebrating the diverse talents of our students.
At the end, families were able to share with the students at the school reception, which was prepared with catering for the attendees, while a photography session was on offer to capture this special moment for a lifetime.
As we bid farewell to the Graduating Class of 2024, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for their future endeavours. Their journey at Oryx may now be concluding, but their next chapters await and we are confident they will continue to achieve great things and make us proud as they join the ranks of the Oryx Alumni Community.
