The Oryx School community has ample reasons to celebrate its outstanding achievements at the prestigious COBIS (Council of British International Schools) Music Festival 2024, held from the 9th to the 11th of February at the British School of Bahrain. This festival, a key event in the global school calendar, brought together students, educators, and music enthusiasts from around the world, providing a vibrant platform for showcasing musical talent and fostering cultural exchange.

Our pupils demonstrated their exceptional musical skills across various categories, including Lower School Contemporary Voice, Upper School Contemporary Voice, Lower School Contemporary Instrumental, Upper School Contemporary Instrumental, Upper School Classical Instrumental, Battle of the Bands, Vocal Ensemble, and the Online Composition Competition.

The festival was a true testament to COBIS's commitment to promoting creativity, collaboration, and cultural understanding through music. The event included workshops, rehearsals, and performances, offering students the opportunity to refine their skills and connect with peers from diverse backgrounds.

Among the notable accomplishments, Adeline F. achieved a commendable second place in the Lower School Contemporary Voice category. In a display of musical prowess, Drive Thru, our school's rock band, also secured second place in the highly competitive Battle of the Bands. Ayari, a talented Year 12 pupil, shone brightly by winning the Song Writing Composition category.
