I am from County Armagh in the North of Ireland and studied a Bachelor of Education in Primary at Stranmillis University College in Belfast, graduating in 2015. I am currently studying for my Masters in Early Years Education at the University College of London and I am really enjoying learning about Early Years practice from around the world.
I started my teaching career in a small village school, teaching both reception and Year 1 in a composite classroom before moving to London to teach Year 1 for two years. Due to spending some time teaching in Poland during my degree, I have always had an interest in international teaching. This drew me to Qatar in 2017 and I have loved every minute of it! Since moving to Doha, I have taught both Nursery and Reception children.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading and visiting new places. One of the most beautiful places I have been to so far has been Kenya! I have attained my Grade 7 in Classical Piano and just play for fun.
I hope to continue to offer our youngest learners a meaningful, happy and secure start to their school journey at Oryx. I believe that through facilitating opportunities for children to have hands-on and meaningful early learning experiences, we can support them in achieving a solid basis for a successful future in education!
