Bio
Hello, my name is Christian Skillings. I grew up in the United States and moved to Qatar in 2022. Before joining Oryx International School, I worked at an international language academy in Beijing and a British international school in Shanghai, where I taught English as an Additional Language (EAL) to Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 students.
Since joining Oryx, I have taught EAL to Key Stage 3 and 4 students while also serving as Head of Year 7 and Head of EAL, before transitioning into my current role as Key Stage 3 Achievement Lead. In addition to this role, I also teach AS Global Perspectives and Research. As an educator, I aim to create a supportive yet challenging environment where students can grow into the best versions of themselves.
Fun fact
Outside of school, I enjoy remaining very active, exploring coffee culture, studying Arabic and travelling around the world. I am also a supporter of Olympic wrestling and hope to attend the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
