I was born in Lincoln in the UK and studied Ancient and Modern History at Queen’s University in Belfast completing my Masters in International Relations at the University of Nottingham. I then moved to Leeds to complete my PGCE.

I have worked as a teacher for over fifteen years and worked as the Head of History and Politics at a large secondary school in Lincoln.

My husband and two daughters live with me in Qatar.

My main interests are music, hiking and travel. My husband and I have travelled by train (and boat) to places such as St. Petersburg, Istanbul and Marrakesh. We cannot wait to explore a new part of the world with our family. I have previously played in the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and am looking forward to being able to contribute to any extracurricular groups at Oryx and brush up on my skills.

My main aim at Oryx International School is to provide students with an outstanding educational experience whereby they are inspired to explore and understand the world around them. History is such an important subject as it allows students to become global citizens and to develop critical thinking skills. This gives them an excellent foundation to become confident and empathetic individuals.
