Members of Qatar Airways Subsidiary (QAS) visited Oryx International School today to personally thank and present gifts to the students who took part in the “Voices of Tomorrow” podcast - a special project created in celebration of Earth Day held earlier this year on April 22nd 2025.

The event was attended by the students and their parents, who gathered to celebrate this meaningful recognition. During the visit, QAS representatives addressed the audience, sharing inspiring details about the various sustainability initiatives the organisation has implemented to help protect the environment. They highlighted the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and fostering a culture of green awareness across all Qatar Airways Group operations.

The “Voices of Tomorrow” podcast was developed through a collaboration between QAS and OIS, aiming to inspire members of the Qatar Airways Group to “think green” and adopt sustainable habits. The students involved; Maximos, Reve, Taylor, Mariam, Taha, and Dia (Year 8), and Samir (Year 9), each proudly represented Oryx International School, dressed in green and blue to honour Earth Day.

During the podcast, the students engaged in thoughtful conversations about what the Earth might say to humans if it could speak and how they envision a more sustainable and hopeful future.

Thoughtful Reflections from Our Students

Their words carried powerful messages of awareness and action:

“I do appreciate what Qatar is doing to sustain themselves well as well as being eco-friendly because I'm not sure if you realise, but there are so many initiatives all around Qatar that all contribute towards different things, but mostly for environmental causes.” Samir (Year 9)

“A lot of people don't notice, but if you put your AC in auto mode, it reduces the electricity amount used.” Dia (Year 8)

“The school has put a lot of thought into the eco-friendly things they do, such as rubbish bins and bottle cap recycliing, but we can also inform students about how pollution and carbon dioxide in the air can really affect us in the future.” Reve (Year 8)

As part of their presentation, QAS also shared exciting news with the audience: the students’ voices and messages are now being featured across QAS facilities, where the “Voices of Tomorrow” podcast is played daily on screens located throughout the organisation. These messages reach more than 3,000 people each day, inspiring both employees and visitors to reflect on sustainability and environmental responsibility.

This collaboration beautifully demonstrates how young voices can lead meaningful change. Through “Voices of Tomorrow”, our students have become true ambassadors of sustainability, reminding us all that every small action contributes to a greener and brighter future.
