Miska Moktar

Year 1 Teacher

I was born in Somalia and migrated to the UK when I was only 10 months old with my parents and older sister. I was able to complete my primary and secondary education in London before moving back to Somalia for a year and working with the UN for a year as an interpreter.

I completed my degree graduating in Early Childhood Studies and my PGCE at London Metropolitan University.

During my undergraduate degree, I worked in a nursery for two years as a nursery practitioner. I enjoyed working in Qatar for my first year of teaching and being able to experience this with my daughter. I am very passionate about teaching and have always aspired to work with children in a multi-disciplinary team.

In my spare time, I enjoy long walks and I've recently found a love for gym and yoga.

My aim at Oryx is to make a positive impact on children's holistic development and learning.
