Foundation Stage 2 Teacher

I am originally from Nottingham and lived there until I moved to Qatar in 2012. I studied English & Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at Nottingham Trent University.

When the opportunity arose to move to Qatar in August of 2012 and work in a small kindergarten and special educational needs centre, it was one I felt I could not miss out on. Whilst working at the kindergarten, I soon discovered my passion for teaching in the Early Years and went on to gain my Qualified Teacher Status. Over the past six years, I have worked in a few international schools in Doha before joining Oryx International School.

My family all still live in Nottingham, though my mum often travels all over the world for work. They love to come and visit me here in Doha and soak up the sunshine! My grandma, who is 88 years old, came to visit last year and she absolutely loved it too!

Outside of school, I enjoy attending different exercise classes, especially spinning and yoga. There is always something exciting happening in Doha, and I love to visit new places. I am very passionate about travelling and love to spend school holidays visiting new countries, learning about different cultures and trying delicious food!

I continue to aim to create a positive learning environment that enables every child to reach their full potential and be inspired to become lifelong learners.
