School Counsellor

I grew up in East London in England. I also attended an International boarding school in Nigeria and spent a year as an exchange student at the American University of Cairo, Egypt.

I graduated from the University of East London in 2001 with a BA (Hons) in Third World Studies and Information Technology. In 2010, I obtained another BA (Hons) Social Work from Open University at Havering College of Further and Higher Education.

I have seven years of experience as a Child Protection Social Worker, working with children and their primary caregivers in supporting the children to achieve their full potential physically, socially, emotionally and mentally.

Here at Oryx International School, I would like to assist the children to achieve their full potential.

As a family we enjoy traveling, exploring new cultures and meeting people.

I was born in Sultan Kudarat which is situated in the southwestern part of Central Mindanao. Our family migrated to Norzagaray Bulacan central part of Luzon since I was 4 years old. I studied for a degree of Science in Nursing in 2004. After four years of my study, I took the Professional Licensure Exam and became a Registered Nurse from my country in March 2009.

I started my nursing career in Riyadh Saudi Arabia, which I rendered my 7 years of service as a Nurse in an Outpatient clinic in Prince Sultan Military Medical City. I then moved to Qatar in September 2016 to be with my husband. I started working in home-care for 8 months. I returned to nursing after having my first child and started working in Medihealth Solutions Doha as a Nursery Nurse during weekdays and Triage Nurse on the weekends. In March 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the nursery school was temporarily closed by the ministry and more restrictions were imposed that caused our company to have fewer patients and clients. An opportunity was presented to me due to the pandemic, at Hamad Medical Corporation who was recruiting temporary nurses to increase the workforce to fight against the virus. I started working in Hamad in June 2020. Which I spent mostly in the emergency department and covid facility as well as covid ICU.

My main interests are music, swimming and cooking. I am married to Joel, and I have a 2-year-old son and have been living together in Doha since 2016.

My main goal is to provide excellent and compassionate care to the students. Bringing the ability to monitor student's health and take appropriate nursing interventions to ensure their well-being.

Wellbeing Counsellor

I’m originally from the Midlands in the UK but moved to Cheshire in 2012 after completion of my University course.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology.

After university I worked with vulnerable adults in the community, supporting them to live independently. I then worked for a counselling charity which supported bereaved individuals and families. In 2018, I started working at an agricultural college in Cheshire as a Wellbeing Advisor and Counsellor to the students and staff.

My mission at Oryx is to embed wellbeing into the culture here and to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.

In my spare time I enjoy being active, learning new things, listening to audiobooks and spending time with my husband and daughter. We love travelling and exploring but I also appreciate opportunities for rest and relaxation.
