Bring your own device to school (BYOD)

We are dedicated to providing a 5-star education for all our students in primary and secondary. The School requires that all secondary students (Year 7 – 11) have a laptop / notebook computer for use in school each day. This will be advantageous, as it will allow students to access, store and share their work with teachers and fellow students, access learning at home and subsequently make more efficient and greater progress with their learning, acquiring ICT skills at the same time. Once setup, students will automatically be logged into the school network and will therefore not have to log in and out making the device readily available in every lesson.

We have included a short list of suitable laptops types (at a range of prices for you to consider if you wish to purchase). If your child already has a laptop, and as long as it has the below basic specification, there isno need to purchase a new one.

Minimum System Requirements:

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10

Processor: Intel Core i3/equivalent or higher

RAM: 4GB or above.

Hard Disk:512GB or higher (HDD or SSD)

Display: 11.6 inches or larger

Other: Built-in keyboard, audio, wireless, USB ports, Battery life up to 7-8 hours

Examples of suitable laptop/notebook brands:

We have a high end firewall in place to ensure that students can only access appropriate sites on the school internet and all students and parents will be required to sign an ICT User Agreement (see reverse side), which outlines the school’s safety measures and regulatory use policies.

We will also provide you with our Bring Your Own Device Policy at the start of term. Please ensure that your child’s device has appropriate virus protection installed.

Please note that the school cannot take responsibility for the following:

  • Broken, damaged, lost or stolen devices or associated accessories.
  • System failures or crashes leading to loss of data or corruption of files.
  • Antivirus or any kind of end point protection for your laptops.
  • IT support for your devices other than internet connectivity issues.

Please note that without a signed Internet User Agreement, students cannot bring their device to school.

If you require any further IT information, please do not hesitate to contact us on
