Dear Parents
As the popular saying goes ‘Winter is Coming!’ and with it this year we will be holding our first
Winter Fair. Please put a note in your diaries for Saturday 15th December. We have received tremendous support from the community in terms of offering stalls, activities and events for all our families to enjoy so please do come along between 10.00am and 2.00pm, we look forward to seeing you there.
In the cooler weather, students may wear the school fleece to and from school and when outside at break times, however, in class students should not wear the fleece. They can wear the school jumper if they require. Please label your child’s school uniform in case items get misplaced.
We held the first of our Parent Information Workshops this week. Our School Counsellor, Mrs Tobun, spoke to parents about Bullying and Cyberbullying and how to help their children to stay ‘safe online’. Thank you to the parents who attended. Our next workshop will be held on Monday 26th November at 1.15pm. Mr Madine will present information regarding our forthcoming CIS Membership Accreditation. To book please go to our Facebook page here and follow the instructions.
I am delighted to inform you that our girls’ U16 netball team won their first match against Mesaieed this week. Congratulations to Miss Fitzgerald and the girls. Congratulations also to Mr Goodwin and our boys’ U16 football team who got a commendable draw against the league leaders also at Mesaieed.
On Tuesday 27th November we will be hosting our first home games at OIS. U16 boys’ football team will play Pearling School and our U16 netball girls’ team will play GEMS AAQ. Both games start at 2.30pm and parents are warmly invited to attend and support our teams. Gates open at 2.00pm
