Dear Parents,
It has been a fantastic term in Secondary. Our new Student Leadership Team of Head Boy and Girl, along with the Deputies and Senior Prefects are now established and have begun taking up duties. Our Student Council did a great job liaising with the PTSA at the recent Winter Fair, which was enjoyed by the whole Oryx community.
The recent A level and BTEC evening was particularly well attended and closely followed by Year 9 Options Evening with another large turnout. Museum Trips for Y7 and Y10 and excursions to Careers Fair for Y11 and the Qatar Stock Exchange were welcomed by students and proved to be very popular. We will continue to explore opportunities for learning alongside classroom practice.
House events continue to grow and our House Spelling Bee Champions - Jude (Y8), Zalaid (Y10 and Light (Y11) followed in the footsteps of Quiz and Volleyball champions this term. I am particularly happy to see House Captains motivating their teams and I look forward to Football, Badminton, Chess and Sports Day next term.
Oryx school bags are now available at Noble House Uniform Suppliers and I am grateful to all parents for their patience and for replacing current bags with school issue bags at their earliest convenience.
Next term we look forward to our Senior Choir competing and performing and to the upcoming Production of Grimms’ Tales. Look out for ticketing details in the New Year.
